Fellowship Baptist Church located at 5029 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27603 is seeking a Minister of Music. This is a permanent part-time position that requires fifteen (15) hours per week. Vacation and sick time benefits apply. The Minister of Music, under the immediate supervision of the Pastor(s), will plan and guide the music ministry of Fellowship Baptist Church. This position will include, but not be restricted to, planning and directing the music during the scheduled worship services, leading the sanctuary choir, coordinating and working in an advisory capacity with the complete music program. Ministerial duties will consist of those dealing with the music ministry.
A. Sunday Morning – Choose and lead congregational music and coordinate special music. This would require coordination with the Pastor(s) to maintain a consistent theme throughout the service.
B. Special Services – Coordinate with special groups, revival music leader, etc., as required.
C. Sanctuary Choir – For regular Sunday morning service, select music, learn music, and direct choir practice weekly.
D. Sanctuary Choir – Outreach Activities, ensure that members are recruited for the choir. Lead in seeking out talent in the church and encouraging the use of that talent to aid in worship. Invite guest musicians and organize special guest performances as part of the music.
E. Music Library Maintenance – Order, catalog, and file music for the sanctuary choir and maintain the choir room.
F. Cantatas/Musicals – Choosing, learning, and directing the music. Also coordinating drama, props, lighting, sound, publicity and special bulletins, etc.
G. Training – Workshops and conferences to bring new ideas and techniques to the music ministry.
H. Special Activities – Choir retreats and social functions for the purpose of fellowship and building and maintaining morale within the choir. These would also provide additional training opportunities.
I. Review music to be used in weddings, funerals, and other special occasions as requested by the Pastor(s).
J. Lead Worship Music for Wednesday night Bible Study.
